TOUR HIGHLIGHTSLitomysl The dominant feature of Litomysl is the monumental Renaissance arcade-castle (Unesco Heritage) from 16th century with the late High-Baroque features added in the 18th century. On the elongated square, which is one of the largest in the Czech Republic, stands a town hall of Gothic origin and a series of Renaissance and Baroque houses, many with arcades and vaulted ground floor rooms. The East Bohemian town of Litomysl emerged in the 13th century on the site of an older fortified settlement on the Trstenice path - an important trading route linking Bohemia and Moravia. OlomoucFounded in the early 13th century as a royal town. There are numerous sacral monuments, such as the Bishop’s Cathedral of St. Wenceslas, surrounded with residential buildings with the former castle and canon houses. The remarkable rectory Church of St. Maurice and the extensive Town Hall with a bay chapel and a modern horologe are dated from the Gothic period. The town was magnificently rebuilt in the Baroque style after the Thirty Years War. The stunning impressive monument is the Holy Trinity Column (Unesco Heritage). KromerizA peaceful town with a beautiful centre is a relaxing place to visit. The castle of Kromeriz and the gardens are an exceptionally complete and well-preserved example of a European Baroque princely residence (Unesco Heritage). Moravian KarstThe Moravian Karst is the largest karst area of the Czech Republic. It is a nature park with an area of approximately 100 km², 5km wide and 24km long. It is known and explored for centuries as an underground world of an exceptional beauties. Four of the caves in this area are accessible to the public. Other sights include the loosing streams, karst springs and some wild caves. Lednice and ValticeThe cultivated landscape formed by the Liechtenstein family. Castles and other romantic structures in the forests and parks between the towns Valtice, Břeclav, Lednice and Mikulov. Baroque architecture and the classical and neo-Gothic style of the castles of Lednice and Valtice with countryside fashioned according to English romantic principles of landscape architecture. At 200 sq. km, it is one of the largest artificial landscapes in Europe. The Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape is the Unesco Heritage registered. TelcTelc is a most beautiful town - a combination of pure Renaissance and Baroque buildings, typically grouped, make Telc (Unesco listed) one of the finest examples of medieval urban architecture. The Telc chateau belongs among the jewels of Moravian Renaissance architecture famous for its hall with coffered ceilings and richly decorated interiors. TrebicOne of the oldest and most important centres of Jewish settlements. It is the best preserved original Jewish quarter in Europe with two synagogues and Jewish cemetery (listed as Unesco Heritage). Today it is one of the biggest cemeteries of its kind in central Europe. Zdar nad SazavouUnesco Heritage site of Pilgrimage Church of St. Jan Nepomuk on Zelena Hora (Green Hill) built in early 18th century. The most original example of a style between Baroque and Gothic. It is built in a five-pointed star-shaped design surrounded by a cemetery. TOUR SCHEDULE AND DETAILS
